Until recently, The Golf Club of Houston was known as Redstone Golf Club. Two courses are part of this club; the Tournament Course is actually open to the public and hosts the annual Shell Houston Open. The Tournament Course opened in 2007 with a design by the "Open Doctor," Rees Jones, with PGA Tour star David Toms consulting. The standard fee is $150, while the twilight rate is $125.

The Members Course hosted the Houston Open from 2003 to 2005 and was a co-design between Jim Hardy and Peter Jacobson. As the name suggests, it is a private course reserved for members and their invited guests.

This course is a good as it gets in the Houston area. I've walked the course many times since 2012 watching the pros during the Shell Houston Open and always wanted to play it. We finally went yesterday, Jan 1, 2016. The course was in excellent condition overall, but cart path only as they prepare for the 2016 SHO. With the excellent fore-caddie (required), we were still able to finish in 4:20. This is probably one of the least expensive PGA Tour courses you'll ever be able to play, so get out there and keep it in the fairways and on the greens!
