The UAW hired nationally acclaimed architect Rees Jones to design the course. he was selected to produce an "environmentally responsible" golf course to live symbiotically with its Northern Michigan environment. Black Lake Golf Club is one of the few courses that has been certified by the Michigan Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Program issued by Michigan State University. Loved the scenery & layout. Challenging around the greens.

Great course, played early in May and was in excellent shape so I assume mid summer must be excellent.

Great value. Well maintained. Great layout. Play can be slow because the greens fee is a bargain.

We were able to get a great deal through group golfer. Made the rate really reasonable compared to the rack rate. This course is worth the trip (about 1 hour from Gaylord). The hospitality is first class. Pace of play has never been an issue. The course does not get a lot of play since it is so far off the beaten path. We will definitely go back.

The course is by far one of the best kept courses I have played. Played twice and one day and replay rate of $40 was a little pricy for 4:30pm. Other than that the course is fantastic
