Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club
301 Royal Saint Augustine Pkwy
Saint Augustine, FL 32084-1888, United States

904.824.4653
Royal St. Augustine is a J. Christopher Cummins design that opened in 2000 and meanders through thick parkland and wetlands. Sculpted mounds and fairways, sandy waste areas, and numerous lakes and water hazards are the chief features here. Four sets of tees stretch the course from 4,670 to 6,529 yards. Full practice facilities are augmented by a clubhouse with a golf shop, restaurant and bar.

Certainly not in the best shape! Bad greens and many of the fairways not good.

I would reverse the two nines from the current layout. the course should finish with a par 3 not a par 5.

Definitely a "Course Management" course. Long hitters can easily find trouble, narrow fairways (on a few holes) and definite landing areas emphasize accuracy. About 75% of the bunkers are low on sand(less than 1 inch). All in all a very scenic course with a great staff and specials almost always.

Nice course to play if you are in the area, can be a little tricky for the first time playing there, but fair if you a 14 and under handicap player who keeps the ball in play off the tee, if not good luck on scoring if you play by the rules of golf! Have GPS on the carts which made it nice and greens roll true and fast.

Greens in superb condition. Difficult course that requires straight shots from every tee. Very difficult holes mixed with a bag of birdie holes. If you play the course for the first time be aware that you will lose some balls due to hidden hazards. Strategic play is recommended.

Very tight shot making course with crowned fairways that slope your ball into hazards. Several holes are laughably unfair. Course needs major design overall to be become playable for average amateur golfer. Three stars is being gracious.
