This course was a co-design between architect Glenn Hickey and PGA Tour star and Louisiana native David Toms. The course runs through three different landscapes - live oaks, cypress wetlands (water is on 11 holes), and upland pine forests. Enough effort was made to preserve wildlife habitat that the course has earned Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status.

Lot of fun and a challenging course. Loved the greens and the people! Can’t wait to play again!

Front nine played like an older community course; tight with lot of houses. Scenery was OK but when you made the turn, the course changed to open and looked like a newer layout.
Really enjoyed the back nine.
Would return and play again.

Three of us had a wonderful experience at Carter Plantation. Each of us commented that we would go back again. Condition was what we expected from a course on the Louisiana Audubon Golf Trail. For three seniors playing mid-week, it was a bit pricier than I would have preferred, but not exorbitant. Pro Shop personnel were very friendly and took time to talk with us. Parking lot assistant was exceptionally garrulous and gave us good tips about the course.

Love the course and layout, but the greens need to be faster. They were long and unpredictable. Otherwise a spectacular test from the tips.

The marshalls were a bit of a pain. I know they had a significant numbers of golfers scheduled and we had a shotgun start tournament that started at nine with a hole or two stacked, but geeze, lighten up.
