Goldsboro Municipal GC opened in 1941 but was completely renovated and rebuilt in 1999 with a design by John LaFoy. It reopened in April, 2000 by hosting the third annual Clarence Rose Golfing Fore Kids Pro-Am. In his redesign, LaFoy wanted to emulate some of Donald Ross's designs located around the state.

The renovated course features 419 Bermuda fairways and rather large bent greens, including several short par-4 holes. The clubhouse includes a pro shop, a grill, and a snack bar.
