After new owner Fred "Skip" Curtis purchased this well-wooded parkland-style course, he undertook a renovation that was completed in September of 2012, while the clubhouse and other facilities are expected to re-open in 2013. Curtis himself served as architect for the redesign. Shaker Hills was once ranked the top public-access course in Massachusetts; Curtis' stated goal is to reclaim that distinction.

The standard public rates (with cart) are $55 weekdays and $65 on Fridays, weekends and holidays before 1:00 p.m. EDT. Walking is permitted at the discretion of the golf shop staff. Memberships are also offered.
