Formerly known as Bull Run Country Club, this course stretches over 450 acres that are also home to plenty of flora, fauna, and fish. Several publications have included Bull Run in their list of top public courses in the Washington DC area. The course's architect, Rick Jacobson, previously worked for Jack Nicklaus' design firm.
The club's name comes from two Civil War battles; in fact, much of the town of Haymarket was burned by Union troops in 1862.
Public rates are posted below and include a power cart; fees are lower for club members, juniors, seniors, military, and law enforcement officers.

Conditions were average - tee boxes were in poor shape and some greens were just as dimpled as a golf ball - very slow greens. Since the last time I played there in 2004 - conditions of the course has deteriorated...

Fairways and greens are in great shape. Tee boxes need some work. Need stronger marshalls who are willing to encourage maintaining pace of play. Will play here again in the near future. Nice course.
