This course opened in 1970 and is owned by the City of Long Beach. Architect Cal Olsen oversaw a redesign of this course that debuted in 2004 and features 70 bunkers, Bermuda fairways, and bent greens. Although it is advertised as a links-flavored course, many mature trees and four lakes are in play, yielding a pronounced parkland style.

I agree, $43 to walk this course was a bit much. I play here about once a month though. Greens were too wet, I even plugged a couple approach shots. I guess no one in Long Beach knows how to fix a divot either. Fairways were a bit on the dry side today.
