Fun course to play for change of pace. Greens were very soft and very slow.

It has been 20 years since I had last played this course! Overall, I would actually give this course a 3.5 stars. The layout of the track is fun, and yet has its challenging moments for sure. The greens were, for the most part, fairly decent, and for bent grass greens they would roll fairly true (when you're able to putt on nothing but grass!). My big "knock" against the greens is the fact that they are on the really slow side! They could be sped up just a touch!!!

The rest of the course, however, definitely needs some attention!!! What's really bad is that it doesn't need a lot of work per se.....just some TLC! The tees/fairways (and greens for that matter) could stand to be mowed more often!!! I've played courses where the rough was more manicured than the playable areas of this course!!! Another big thing that is needed.....say it with me....ROUNDUP, or some other weed killer!!!! The aesthetics of the course would have been a LOT better had there been some spraying going on to prevent the weeds! Now, I might give a little on the mowing as it has been a fairly wet spring in the Red River Valley, but come on!

Lastly....the hospitality of the course leaves a little to be desired! While the attendant in the pro shop was very polite and professional, the course marshal was totally unacceptable! We were a foursome that had paid our green fees, were playing the tips, and were well within our expected time of play. However, the marshal (per the players in the group behind us) that were scrambling, complained because we never let them through. They had to wait on us for one freakin' hole!!!! The marshal asked us to let them through (which we never did). We finished the round well within the established timeline, and they never had to wait on us after the 2nd hole!!! Just because of this....I almost refuse to play here again! This is a cow-pasture course that caters to the members only! If they want to be that way....become a private course and don't allow people to come play!

Drought has affected the fairways. Tee boxes and greens were in good shape. Pace of play was not reasonable.
