The Falls and Crossings courses at Magnolia Grove were named by Golf Digest's "Places To Play" as two of the nation's Great Value courses, and both courses were listed in America's Top 50 Affordable Courses. The property at Magnolia Grove includes creeks, marshlands, and lakes, with each of the 54 holes carved from a thick forest of hardwood and pine.
The Crossings Course hosts the annual Mobile Bay LPGA Classic and is a shotmaker's-type layout that doubles across railroad tracks. It occupies hillier terrain than the Falls, with several pulpit greens elevated well above fairway levels.
The slightly shorter Falls Course features large, heavily contoured greens and massive, cloverleaf bunkers. On the 10th, a 570-yard par five and possibly the best strategic hole on the course, a waterfall cascades across stair-steps just beneath a contoured green that falls eight feet from front to back.
Most of the holes on the Short Course, recently named the best par-3 course in America, call for forced carries over marsh to liberally sloped, bulkheaded greens and are equal to any of the one-shotters on the full-length courses.
The rates for the Crossings and Falls courses vary by season, but begin at $65 (carts are $17), while the Short Course rate is $18 (carts are $11).

Played the Falls. Really beautiful course! Lots of elevation, as others have mentioned. Seems that each hole is its own entity. As you would expect, a great design with super shot values!

Played on RTJ special rate. Awesome course played one month prior to the LPGA Mobile Bay Classic.

OK, biased because when we played it had just stopped raining in the morning and no one else came out to play. We literally saw no more than 10 other golfers all day. Needless to say pace was perfect! And the hospitality was great since we were the only customers. The course played pretty well considering we came in after 2 days of rain; drained very well. And the course is beautiful. Value is good, but it should be known that the rates have increased. Still not expensive when considering the quality of the courses - many courses this nice could charge (and get) twice the rate the trail courses charge. In fact, Ross Bridge is a trail course which charges about $130, which is nearly double the normal Trail course rate, and gets it with no issue. However, the rate, which starts at $65, was higher than that when we played. It's June hot in southern Alabama, and rain comes more often than not in the summer. $65 should be the max from Memorial Day to Labor Day... Still no complaints bigger than that. Great venue!

Great Course. One of the Best RTJ Trail courses. Challenging, yet not over complicated. Beautiful Scenery.
