Quicksand is a Michael Hurdzan / Dana Fry design that includes over 100 sand bunkers with very high and, in some cases, dramatic faces. The course also contains an unusual amount of water for a west Texas course. Golf Digest gave Quicksand an Honorable Mention in the category of "Best New Public Course" when it opened.

Great layout would play this course more often if i didn't live so far away.

Nice course. Difficult with all the sand. In great shape considering how hot it is and the lack of rain. Scenery isn't good because it is in San Angelo, not much they can do about that. Being the only viable public course in the city allows the staff to be somewhat rude and get away with it. There are simply no other options.

You have to like a challenge, which I do, with 136 sand traps, some so deep, when you stand in the bottom, the top edge is 10 feet over your head. Excellent shape, excellent greens, excellent layout.
