The course is in the best shape of any played in Houston so far--has grass GROWING and well taken care of.

Hermann Park is an affordable, fun public golf course inside the loop. For a public course, the tee boxes and fairways exceeded my expectation (lush and green). The greens were typical of a public course (slow and furry).

I was there in July so it was hot and steamy. I played 9 holes late and was in 2nd to last group out. We move along well until it started getting dark. Pace slowed because it was difficult to see/find shots. My only "complaint" was the distance from the 1st green to the 2nd tee. I was walking with two others in a cart. I was starting to think that I had made a wrong turn but eventually caught up with them. It was far enough that I thought I walked past a tee - and no signs except 2 <-- when exiting the 1st green.

I will try to play there again if I am in the area.
