tough to rate this golf course fairly on my first and only experience. I golfed it in early April on a very, very windy day. Course appeared to be in good shape - and I'm sure as the season goes along it will come in nicely.
Fairways are pretty wide open. Greens were in good shape, have enough undulation to make putting fun and were in no way tough/unpredictable to read. As for hazards, there is a creek that runs through a number of holes and you have play it. Makes for some interest decision making opportunities.
If playing from the white tees, this course could lend to a very low score. Keep your ball in play and there are a number of birdie - and if you're feeling it - even a few eagle opportunities.
Carefull of the water on your tee shot on #3. Long hitters can clear it with a short pitch and putt for birdie. 3 wood or long iron is the safe tee shot.
#7 is a great risk/reward. Nice drive on the right side will dribble down the steep hill for Bubba Watson like distance. If you're feeling it, try and knock it on in 2, but don't be short or the creek awaits in front of the green. Long and you're OB. Lay up and it's an easy birdie.
A draw off the tee box on #10 will put you in good position to knock it on in 2 on this par 5. It plays uphill and it might seem unreachable in 2. But you'd be surprised!
#14 is another fun par 5. Easy birdie. Just stay out of the creek on your drive. Know your distances. Punch it up the middle of the fairway on the 2nd shot, and an easy pitch and putt for birdie.
Best holes are the finishing #17 & #18. Creek comes into play on 17. Best play on this dog leg right in a long iron fade down the right side of fairway, leaving an easy wedge into the large green.
#18 is their signature hole. A great finish to a fun round of shot decision making. This one will make you think, too. A forced carry over OB area. Stay right and you are safe, but the further right leaves you more distance as it is a dog leg left. If you are really feeling it, there is a small landing area infront of the green, but you have to carry the creek. Either way you go, it is a beautiful approach shot to a green with water on the left and no room on the right. Hit it high and land it soft, and take your par.
A fun course that can be played many ways. If you are hitting it well and keeping it in play...be aggressive for very low score. Or...grind it out and play smart to leave yourself in position to make easy pars.

Target golf in Sioux Falls Sd. Willow Run is a challenging course that has a creek the winds through it. The course requires you to hit your spots. The course has new ownership and they are making upgrades to the course and the club house. This course is only going to get better with it's new ownership. Leave it to Tom Walsh to make a great course even better. I look foreword to playing many more rounds here.
