Aronimink Golf Club formed in 1896 and opened this location in 1926 with one of America's more storied classical-style golf courses — in this case, a Donald Ross design. It has hosted several championships and tour events, including:

1962 PGA Championship (Gary Player)
1977 USGA Men's Amateur Championship (John Fought, now a well-known golf course architect)
1997 USGA Junior Amateur Championship (Jason Allred)
2003 Senior PGA Championship (John Jacobs)

Aronimink is also the current host site (since 2010) of the PGA Tour's AT&T National Championship. The course record (63) was tied by Steve Marino during the AT&T National on Saturday, July 2, 2011... ...for about 20 minutes. And then Nick Watney shot 62 to set the new course record.
