Quail Valley is a high-end 18-hole course designed by John Zoller that opened in 1994 about 20 miles west of Portland. The open, rolling layout suggests a links style but is well-groomed.
The walking rates here are $35 Monday-Thursday, $36 Friday, $40 weekends and holidays.

my only knock on the course is the pace of play and there are no course marshalls to keep people moving. The course is well maintained and has intersting holes. Probably not the best course for a new golfer. The course aparently doesn't tell people the round should take no more than four hours. The scenery is fine in this country location, but it becomes difficult when you have to wait on every shot.
