Traverse City Golf & Country Club was designed and built by Tom Bendelow, a Scotsman from Aberdeen who was one of America’s pioneer golf course architects. He eventually designed over 400 golf courses in the United States, including such classic courses at Medinah #3, Bloomfield Hills Country Club and the original nine holes at Birmingham Country Club.
