This club debuted in 1966 with a design by the well-known architect Ellis Maples, who once worked for the legendary Donald Ross. But following purchase of the club in October 2014 by McConnell Golf, Greensboro-based golf architect Kris Spence is being brought in to renovate and restore the original Maples design. (Spence has a reputation of carefully restoration of Maples and Ross designs.) In addition, the practice area, clubhouse, dining room, ballroom, and golf shop are included in this massive renovation.
