Great golfing with great staff!

Thunderhart Golf Course has one of the most scenic front nines in the region, along with the beautiful mountain courses of Christman's in Windham and Blackhead Mountain in Roundtop. The front nine also offers fantastic differences not only in distance between the white and blue tees, but also the angle from which you must attack the fairway.

The back nine is a much different course that requires acute accuracy and reliable distance control. With 7 of the 9 holes lined completely with forest, it is somewhat unforgiving to the player who cannot keep the ball straight and true. For long hitters, there are very few places to take advantage of your length, but that is both the beauty and challenge of the back nine. If you believe that golf is about more than just banging the ball long, you will enjoy the opportunity to play a nine hole course that rewards accuracy over power.

As a whole, Thunderhart is very solid golf course with terrific people. There is a hospitable and friendly atmosphere and you get a very good golf course for the price. The greens have improved immensely in just two years of new ownership (Sunny Hill Resort) and other improvements are happening quickly.

If you want a scenic course that provides unique challenges on each hole and a terrific staff, this is the course for you. As maintenance improves, the course will move up to 4 stars in my book, but it's not quite there yet.
