This course has two separate 9-hole, par-3 courses. The Long Course has tree-lined fairways and medium-sized greens. The Short Course has small greens and fairways, which are in excellent shape. Water hazards come into play on both courses. Women play from the same tees as men.

Hyland consists of two par three courses. The inside 9 plays pretty short, while the outside 9 plays longer and provides for a pretty decent challenge.
I play this course now and then to practice my approach shots on regulation courses. If you want to sharpen your short game (8,9 and wedges) shots, the inside 9 is a good treck to do so. If you want to sharpen your mid and short iron game, play the outside 9.
The greens are pretty boring and predictable. Not much to them. Many of the greens are pretty small, so playing the outside 9 will test your accuracy with mid irons.
Hole 7 of the outside 9 is their signature hole. It is a very pretty 130 yard shot off an elevated tee box over a pond with a fountain. The green is large and actually has some nice undulation to it. While not a difficult hole, it is very pretty and fun to play.
