Wait, wait... John Daly did WHAT?
By Torleif Sorenson on 2/13/15

Bedecked with a headache-inducing pair of pants, John Daly returned to the PGA Tour on Thursday at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am...

...and shot a bogey-free 65. That is Long John's best opening round on the Tour in almost ten years. Even the walking scoreboard standard-bearers were astounded.

Said Long John afterward:

"I drove it well, hit irons well. It was one of those rounds. I have five gimmes for birdies, made a couple of par putts. I was never in any trouble. I can't remember any day when Pebble was so subdued. The whole course looked like a postcard. Ever since I've been a pro, I've never seen it look that pretty."
No, Daly is not in the lead after the first round; J.B. Holmes and Justin Hicks both shot 64. But Daly's 65 was the story of the day.

Give him time. No one ever said he couldn't put together a good round. It is staying focused for 4 days that seems to always be the problem.

Well, we'll always have his 18 at the 6th hole of Bay Hill in 1998...
