The New Golf Digest Cover

Golf Digest is making waves with its cover for the second consecutive month. Last month, they put non-golfer Paulina Gretzky on the cover in a blatant cheesecake pose — for which editor Jerry Tarde was blasted and torched.

This month, the magazine has undergone something of a facelift with a new logo typeface, mimicking something from about 1974. And the cover model is the decidedly less-controversial Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon. The magazine has additional Fallon photos here.

In his article, Kyle Porter suggests that Fallon could be one of the important people in keeping golf in the spotlight at a time when the U.S. economy remains in a deep, seven-year-long recession and golf is losing both participants and courses. The best part is that he is quite enthusiastic about it, evidenced by his "Roller Golf" match with Cameron Diaz last week.
