Jimmy Walker Wins Again
By Torleif Sorenson on 2/11/14

When he's away from the golf course, PGA Tour player Jimmy Walker enjoys photographing the stars. The thing is, Walker himself is now emerging as a star.

On Sunday, Walker captured the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am — his third victory of the PGA Tour's 2014 season. Back in October, Walker won his first-ever PGA Tour event in his 187th start, at the Frys.com Open at CordeValle. Then in January, Walker won the back end of the Hawaii swing with a one-shot victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

After hanging on for dear life in wet, blustery conditions at Pebble Beach, Walker had this to say:
"I don't know if it was just a matter of doing it once and then having it happen again and then happen again. I've always felt like I could win out here, and I think that's what you have to believe to be out here — that you belong and that you can win. And finally, it happened. And it's cool that it's happened a couple more times. Quickly."
Three times in his last eight events, to be specific. This time was a bit different; Walker shot 74 on Sunday, which included bogeys at 1, 10, 12, 13, and 17 — not a glamorous final round, to be sure, especially with Dustin Johnson and Jim Renner carding a 66 and 67, respectively. In the end, Walker won by the slimmest-possible margin: One shot.

But when a golfer has already won twice during this PGA Tour season, confidence can be such a booster.
