Jason Dufner's new look
By Torleif Sorenson on 2/25/15

Indeed, a new-look Jason Dufner will play the Honda Classic this week in Florida. Duf gave Luke Kerr-Dineen of Golf Digest the inside scoop, with details like going 11 consecutive weeks without any peanut butter, chocolate, or fast food. Today, Dufner is still doing a gluten-free diet — resulting in shedding 20 pounds:

"The first five days sucked. I felt terrible, I laid in bed for five days, literally. Headaches and not feeling good. But trying to get all that toxin out of you.

"If I didn't do it, I wasn't going to be able to play golf. I missed the playoffs, missed the defense of my PGA Championship. More than likely missed playing in the Ryder Cup because of it. So, not really ready to give the game of golf up yet."
And is THAT ever good news. Nice going, Duf.

Let's hope he can still play. Some other golfers have done the radical change thing and in the process lost their game.

I have a golf book that says if you want to copy a tour pro, find one whose height, weight, and build are similar to yours. At the one tour event I went to, Dufner was my closet golf body double. Guess it's time to find a new one.

Also, I agree - I think this has big potential to mess up his game.

GBogey, I'm with you. During the mid-1990s, when I regained an interest in golf, I was briefly looking at Scott McCarron's game. I'll have to revisit this idea, methinks.
