If golfers like Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy are reduced to appearing in such a monumentally cringe-inducing stage spectacle in order to get their appearance money, they should just stay home from now on.

Between the attention-craving organizers in white, Phil dropping his putter, the women in red tossing their hair around out-of-sync, and the rocket-scientist trying to choreograph the whole charade on the fly, I'm not sure what is worse. But like witnessing a five-car pile-up on the freeway, you just can't not watch it at least once.

What's really sad is that the organizers obviously intended for us to be impressed by the spectacle.
