The newest episode of Golf Channel's "The Haney Project" shows some overly entusiastic golf fans in China picking up and stealing Michael Phelps' golf balls — even the ones Phelps put in the middle of the fairway!

The Olympic swimming star is smashingly popular in China; he captured eight gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Phelps certainly a good laugh about this episode, which is more than he and the accompanying golf rules officials might have had if this occurred during an actual tournament.

At least the Chinese fans adore Phelps for his accomplishments, rather than hate him...
