Back
Tiger is back.

The storyline out of TPC Blue Monster is simple — Tiger is back.

The current world number closed with 1-under-par 71 to win the WGC-Cadillac Championship Sunday, which is his 17th WGC title.
At the height of Tigermania between 1999 and 2009, Eldrick T. Woods won 35 percent of the time he put a peg in the ground.

Now consider this: In his last 18 stroke-play starts on the PGA TOUR, he's won five of them, or 28 percent of the time.

Let's just get it out of the way right now: Tiger is back.
Officially, Tiger only finished two strokes ahead of Steve Stricker — his putting coach — but the final leaderboard is deceiving. He was in control the entire week at Doral and completed the wire-to-wire victory with relative ease.

As the PGA Tour notes in its With this victory article, Tiger's win was impressive for several reasons, but the most important thing is he's one victory away from returning to the number one spot in the Official World Golf Ranking. His next start is at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in two weeks, and as the defending champion, you have to like his chances.
