"The First Tee meant a lot to me"

At first glance, Scott Langley is just another PGA Tour rookie. But, upon closer inspection, the Illinois-native is different — he's the first First Tee participant to reach the PGA Tour.
"There's a synergy between golf and life that comes together at The First Tee," said Langley, 23. "I'm happy to be the face of The First Tee on Tour and if I can have a little bit of influence of kids, that's great. I was in their shoes not long ago, trying to pursue my dreams.

"The First Tee meant a lot to me. You learn how golf can help you learn things that will help you in life."
In his first start playing with the big boys, Scott finished T3 in the Sony Open. Since then, he missed the cut at the Humana Challenge and the Farmers Insurance Open. He's in the field this week in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and he's looking to end his two-tournament skid.

As the first First Tee'er to make it to the big leagues, he's a pioneer, a trendsetter, a validation of the junior program. And I'm happy to see he's willing to embrace the responsibility. There's no telling how many junior golfers Scott will inspire to make the most out of their opportunity.
