Golf Channel To Tiger Woods - Thank You!

The Golf Channel announced earlier today that viewership for the first two Fall Series events is up 235% from last year, and 89% from 2009. I wonder what was different about the Fall Series this year compared to last year, and the year before?

Can life get any better for the University of Alabama standout?

First, he learned Sunday that he is well on his way to becoming the sixth player in the history of the PGA Tour to earn his rookie PGA Tour card without having to go through Q-School. Then, his third place finish at the Frys.com Open earned him an exemption into the McGladrey Classic. And finally, he recorded his ninth career ace during a practice round Tuesday!

Masters To Add Luxury Boxes

Augusta National is adding 90,000 square feet of luxury for patrons who want to attend The Masters, but not actually see any live action.

The facility will be called Berckmans Place, and it is expected to be ready in time for the 2013 Masters. It will be inside the club’s back entrance at Gate 9 on Berckmans Road, which was refurbished for this year’s tournament.

The building won’t overlook the golf course, but it will be a short walk from the fifth and 13th greens.

Maybe it's just me, but why attend a golf tournament with as much allure as The Masters to only watch it on TV?

Silly Media Reporter, Belly Putters Are For Phil Mickelson

Tiger Woods was asked if he'd consider using a belly putter to help him with his putting and he politely answered:

“Phil’s always been one who does drag the putter a little bit and the handle and been very successful at it. But the belly putter is in actuality a releasing stroke, which I believe is how you should putt,” he said. “So when I pick up the belly putter and I try it, it’s very similar to my stroke. The only difference is the weight throws me off.”

When you die, where do you want to be buried? How about on a golf hole, literally?

Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home near Seattle, Washington designed a cemetery to look like a golf hole. Seems weird to me, but you be the judge! The cemetery opens October 25.
