Rory McIlroy set multiple records with his win on Sunday at the U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club. First, I heard he set 12 new records. Then, I heard it was 15.

I did my best to search for all of the records Rory set, and by my count it's 12. If you know of any I missed, let me know and I'll add it to my list.

Rory McIlroy's Records at the U.S. Open
  1. The 72-hole record at 268.

  2. McIlroy's 16-under is the most strokes under-par for 72 holes in U.S. Open history.

  3. The 54-hole record at 199.

  4. The 36-hole record at 131.

  5. McIlroy is the first player in U.S. Open history to reach 13-under-par.

  6. McIlroy is the first player in U.S. Open history to reach 14-under-par.

  7. McIlroy is the first player in U.S. Open history to reach 15-under-par.

  8. McIlroy is the first player in U.S. Open history to reach 16-under-par.

  9. McIlroy is the first player in U.S. Open history to reach 17-under-par.

  10. Quickest to reach double digits under par -- 26 holes when he got to 10 under in the second round.

  11. McIlroy is the first player in U.S. Open history to get to double-digits under-par in the first two rounds.

  12. McIlroy hit 62 of 72 greens — an astounding 86%, which is a record for as long as the USGA has been keeping them.
