This is not what the struggling LPGA needed- one of their top stars retiring... seemingly out of the blue.
Lorena Ochoa, the world's top-ranked women's golfer, announced her retirement Tuesday.

Ochoa, 28, confirmed the news in a statement released by her management company, Ochoa Group. A news conference is scheduled for Friday in Mexico City.

The Mexican newspaper Reforma, citing an anonymous source, reported on Tuesday that Ochoa could return to competitive golf after her indefinite break.

i really dont think this will hurth the lpga as much as some are saying it will.i dont watch the PGA just because tiger is playing and i dont watch the LPGA just because lorena is playing, plus i just dont think she is as much of a draw respctively to her tour as tiger is to his. i will still tune in to watch the ladies tee it up as much as i ever have and no less because of her retirement.
