Pelham Split Rock Golf Club
870 Shore Rd
Bronx, NY 10464-1024, United States

718.885.1258
This 36-hole facility is managed by American Golf and is open to the public.

Pelham Bay Golf Course opened in 1905, but was redesigned by John van Kleek in 1937. While bunkers are in play here, water is not. The signature hole (#9) is a 433-yard par-4 made tough by its assortment of bunkers.

Split Rock Golf Course was an original John van Kleek design that opened in 1934 and featured rather many, many trees, narrow fairways and a creek that bisects the course twice. The closing hole requires a tee shot that basically involves hitting the ball around one of the oldest white oak trees in New York City.

excellent course, greens are a product of the players, they don't fix ball marks.

Great course well maintained, dreadfull management, clueless loading of people onto golf course,no pace of play and long irritating rounds.

the staff is almost always in a bad mood. it's not uncommon to hav ea 5.5 - 6 hour round. having said that, it is a pretty nice course and they keep it in pretty decent shape. keep in mind, it's a city course.

You have to laugh at how American Golf run these places (Pile em'high sell not cheap). Course is in great shape even after all the rain they have had. Had to keep to cart paths which slowed everyone down. Tee times every 7 mins so why not extend this to 10/15 mins when you have to use the cart paths only. We teed off and hour and a half late (even the start was complaining of this). Every hole had a 10/15 min wait.

Only managed to get 12 holes of the 18 done and that was done in 6 hours. If you drive try NJ or upper state NY and find somewhere for a more pleasant 4 hour round and avoid the hassle of the public's in the city.

Its a great course let down by the muppets who run it. Just like most of the public courses in NYC.

2 nice courses. paelham is links style ... can get very wet does not drain well. split rock can get very mosquito infested in the summer so just bring bug spray. but overall split rock is more challengeing and pelham is easier.
