The Course At Wente Vineyards
5050 Arroyo Rd
Livermore, CA 94550-9645, United States

925.456.2475
The Course's 18 championship holes play through our vineyards, rolling hills, and scenic valleys. As you arrive at the first tee, the cliffs of Cresta Blanca and vistas of Livermore Valley come into view for the first time. From this magnificent vantage the course meanders through oak, cottonwood and sycamore trees; native grasslands; and of course, Wente Vineyards.

Classic features such as bentgrass greens, rye grass fairways, MacKenzie-style bunkers, and water hazards add to the challenge of the par-72 course. Open space surrounds the entire locale that includes over 200 feet of elevation change. The Course at Wente Vineyards, which might be described as golf as it was meant to be played, is open to the public.

Although the Course at Wente Vineyards can charge a great deal of money -- $95 -- at the time of my playing, got a relative bargain of just $65. Course is well kept up, and scenery is beautiful -- set in and around the Livermore Valley, with nice, high vista points of the entire S.F. Bay Area.
A treat to go play -- even if the Course is not always easy to play -- what, with a significant number of challenging holes (layout-wise).

monday- thursday $55.00 senior rate after 10:00 makes this the course i will play at least one a month.
Perfect conditions from green to rough. Fairways are plush.
Frist 7 holes make for a great warm up and build your confidence. This little valley is beautiful. The back nine plays tougher but fair.

Beautiful Friday afternoon and the pace was bad with several slow groups. Marshall apologized several times and finally had them skip a hole.

Played last Sunday, and it was windy... and the greens were still healing from aeration and sanding. now add that to a mountain course that the nationwide tour use to play on and your in for a long day... upon getting there the staff pampers you with service, carrying your clubs and attending to your every needs, everyone was awsome. the driving range was so cool, new taloymade balls to hit. the practice area was great, the grill has great breakfast, lunch too. PS, the cart girl rocks too... the course would be hard to walk for sure as it is very hilly with huge elevation changes. the fairways and landing areas are narrow and require good club mgmt for sure. add a 20+ mph wind to this and you have a Trouble with a capital T... the views from almost every hole were spectacular for sure, don't forget your camera. if you have never played here buy a yardage book for sure or have a skycaddie. I couldn't have guessed the yardages as the course makes them seem longer or shorter. if you just play the course and try not to be fancy you should be OK, but cutting corners or trying something you might not normally do will hurt you for the most part. the vineyard line at least 1/2 the holes and look great but will cost you strokes landing them. if you have not played a mountain style course you will be in for a surprise. there are very few fairways that you can be right/left on and get away with playing your shot from. the course is truly a test of ones golf game and the overall experience will last a lifetime, good or bad....lol this is a must play course for sure if your in the area of livermore,ca. and allow yourself some time to visit the winery too. add some great friends to play golf with and you have a memory that will last a lifetime.
