Golf at Carmel Valley Ranch offers challenging play in a setting of extraordinary beauty. Here, golfers play under clear blue skies on rolling ranch land dotted with valley oaks and shared with grazing deer, fox and wild turkeys. The 18-hole course, designed by noted golf architect Pete Dye, has been completely renovated and is now superbly playable and conditioned. Dye designed the rigorous course with a characteristic flair, yet preserved the integrity of the landscape to create the kind of aesthetic experience that has always distinguished the great places of the game. Carmel Valley Ranch has been honored by Golf Magazine as one of America's Top Golf Resorts.

Course is scenic, especially the back nine. Front and back nines are very different in their layouts. Back nine up and down around the mountain.Greens were good and putted true. Price was ok when used with NCGA membership, however would rather play Poppy Hills.

Course is well kept, but if you are playing it as a off-premise guest be prepared to pay out the nose at the cafe (after the 8th hole) and at the bar. I paid $10 for a hot dog that looked like it came from 7-11. Drinks are over priced too. Views are incredible though.

scenery on the course is spectacular!and we played on a rainy ,windy day!it is a challenging course, and on most holes if you miss the fairway you can usually get out of trouble relatively easy.the greens played great, but sone of the fairways need aerifying and overseeding, alot of bare spots on both, and the sand traps were unkept.probably wont play again for full price.would rather play poppy hills for the price.
