Pottawatomie Golf Course
845 N 2nd Ave
Saint Charles, IL 60174-1213, United States

630.584.8356
Holes 3 and 4 at this nine-hole course were Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s first "island" greens and play over the Fox River. The course is owned and operated by the Saint Charles Park District and was the first 9-holer to become a fully-certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. It opened in 1939 as a WPA project and is still among the most highly-regarded nine-hole courses in the United States. The course's name is in honor of the Pottawatomie nation of Native Americans who are prevalent around Illinois; the name essentially means "those who tend the hearth-fire."

Non-resident walking rates for 18 holes are $32 weekdays, $36 weekends. Resident rates, early-bird, twilight, and shoulder-season rates are all lower.

Interesting 9 hole muni. Based on the pictures in the pro shop, the course hardly resembles the original RTJ design, other than the original layout and routing. At $18 to walk 9 holes,on par with other 9 holes course of similar quality. Basic pro shop, but also carries equipment. No bev cart service. Very walkable course, holes are in close proximity to each other. At just over 3000 yards from the tips, not a long course by any means, but considering it is from 1939, a good challenge for the casual golfer. Favorite holes were the ones along the river. No driving range, but 2 stations with nets are available for warm up and a putting green.
