Two 18-hole courses are part of this resort.

LAGOON COURSE
This course opened in 1961 with nine holes designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.; the second nine debuted in 1977 with a design by Joe Lee. Both nines underwent a renovation overseen by architect Bobby Weed in 2007. Water is chief feature here on eleven holes, while mature palms, pines, and oaks line the narrow fairways.

OCEAN COURSE (1928, Herbert Strong)
This was the first resort course to open in Florida and was constructed using more than 100 mules dragging slip pans to shape the contours, dredge the lagoons, and build up earthen mounds. The 1939 Ryder Cup Matches would have been held here if not for the beginning of World War II. In 1942, golf legend Bobby Jones commented, "it's a course to challenge professionals." Since then, the Ocean Course has undergone redesigns by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. (1947) and Bobby Weed (1998), who placed 99 bunkers in play. The Ocean Course has hosted U.S. Open qualifying at least once.

Played Lagoon Course. Very enjoyable course, lots of water on front nine, but short enough to use 3 wood off tee to keep in play (of course I used driver and hit in water). Well maintained resort course. Inn was very nice as well and on the beach, so wife had something to do while I played golf.

Lagoon Course - Short with smaller fairways, lots of water in play. Ocean Course - Nasty bunkering & extra fast elevated greens with larger fairways. Great courses, harder than expected.

Played an event there with the Golf Channel Am Tour. Short, but challenging! Looking forward to playing there again in Sept.
