The club was founded in 1894 and moved to their current site in 1920, when nine holes were opened. The course was extended to eighteen holes in 1975, and then in 2004 architect Arthur Spring oversaw a complete redesign of the course. This parkland-style layout is located in County Cavan, in north-central Ireland. Visitors and societies are welcome; the standard visitor walking rate is €20 (carts are €20).
