Banstead Downs is a downland course built on chalk, so the drainage allows for year-round play, weather permitting. The flora and fauna are such that the course has been designated an area of Special Scientific Interest.

The course has hosted several regional and Surrey professional events over the years, while societies and groups can enjoy catering, in addition to the golf. Visitors with a valid golf handicap certificate are welcome Mondays through Thursdays at £50/round or £65/day. Weekend play must be with a member.
