This course opened in 1992 by nine notable figures in golf: Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, Gene Sarazen, Gene Littler, Billy Caspoer, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Doug Ford, Bob Toski, and Orville Moody. Japanese architect Takao Okada oversaw a major renovation in 2006; the course re-opened in November of that year.

The visitor rate from Christmas to the end of Feburary is $200, while the rest of the year is $160. Guests of the Onward resort enjoy a $40 discount.
