This genuine seaside links course is located right along the County Durham coast. While the Old Course here is largely an Alister Mackenzie redesign dating to 1925, the club has other holes available for play and has designated two other course combinations. The Brabazon layout is considered the toughest routing; it is longer than both the Old Course and the Micklem Course. It also has the quirk of two consecutive par-5s at 13 and 14.

Visitors are welcome; the standard walking rates are £42/round or £50/day on weekdays, then £50/round or £60/day on weekends. The junior rate is £20/round or £22/day. Societies are also welcome with advance arrangement.
