Marketing hype aside, this daily-fee club really *does* offer some gorgeous views of the Seattle skyline and surrounding region. Well-known architect Bob Cupp designed both the Coal Creek and China Creek courses, working with PGA tour star (and Seattle-area native) Fred Couples.

China Creek features five par-3s, nine par-4s, and four par-5s; the course stretches from 4,782 to 6,632 yards. The morning rates (including cart) are $80 for the public and $65 for cardholders; junior and senior discounts are offered. (Rates decrease after 12:00 noon PT).

The tougher Coal Creek course plays from 5,153 to 7,024 yards. The morning rates for Coal Creek are $125 for the public and $95 for cardholders. (As with the China Creek course, rates decrease after 12:00 noon PT).

In addition, Newcastle also has "Rusty Putter," an 18-hole, bent-grass putting course ($15 for adults and $8 for juniors).

Ok, so I just moved to Seattle. Anyone who doesnt rate this a 4-5 is smoking something or just hit them at some weird moment and had a bad experience. I love both courses. They are in excellent shape and once you get the Oki Card you can play for a great rate. This course anywhere else in the country would be 100 bucks min no matter when you play. Greens on the main course are perfect, literally perfect and ever fricken whole has a view to die for. PLay at 4:00pm during the week and basically play the whole round without seeing anyone. I play the second course for $40 start at 4:00 and I am done at 7:00. Clubhouse is very nice, restaurants are above average but the views make them a 10. Practice range is huge and staff very nice. A must, play them both, you'll love them.

Phenomenal views of the entire Puget Sound, Seattle, Space Needle, etc. Lots of elevation changes, some big, some very small greens, excellent conditions.

A Scottish bagpipe player performs each day as the sun sets.
