This course lies on the Irish side of Carlingford Lough and dates to 1896, when it opened with twelve holes. The full 18 was completed in 1897, designed mostly by a Scotsman named George L. Bailie. In 1973, the club retained well-known architect and professional Eddie Hackett to redesign large portions of the course, including 14 acres the club purchased at that time.
