Krungthep Kreetha Golf Course was officially opened on 1 June 1969. It was opened for golfers to play in all 18 holes after the commencement of construction works since 1963 by the initiation of the Mr. Sak Thaiwat. Today it has 1,212 ordinary members.

The Articles of Krungthep Kreetha Association year 2001 have set two types of membership i.e. ordinary member and extraordinary member.

Ordinary members are persons holding Thai nationality and have reached legal age, and that the Administration Committee has resolved to accept as member according to the terms as set in the Articles. Upon the death of member, the membership is considered as inheritance, which can be transferred to the receiver of the inheritance. Ordinary member may transfer the membership to a third party provided that the transferee has met qualifications of a member of the Association, and the Administration Committee has resolved to accept as a member. Extraordinary members are legitimate spouse, or a child that was born from the ordinary member of the Association. Ordinary member’s wife or husband and two children with the age of 10 years or older may apply for extraordinary membership.

The golf course was designed by Major General Lek Sumitr with Lieutenant Amnuay Tubparangsi managing the construction. In 1994, under the term of Police General Pao Sarasin, President of the Association, a major renovation was initiated. Mr. James Robert Vohn, a German architect was appointed as designer and supervisor of the construction works, with Lada Thanasin Company Limited conducting the construction works for the whole 18 holes. The new course was opened for members to play since 1 July 1995.

During the construction of , Her Majesty the Queen Rambhaibarni, queen of King Rama VII, who had appreciation in the golfing sport, has made frequent enquiries to M.R. Thepbayong Dhevakul, the Close Courtier, on the progress of the construction works of Krungthep Kreetha Golf Course. M.R. Thepbayong Dhevakul was the Administrative Director overseeing the construction of Krungthep Kreetha Golf Course. His excellency believed that once Krungthep Kreetha Golf Course was completed, it would serve Her Majesty’s royal intention to play golf at Krungthep Kreetha Golf Course. Her Majesty was given royal grace by proceeding to the golf course on 27 November 1969 at 15.00 hrs. Her Majesty played from Hole 10 to Hole 18, and honored Krungthep Kreetha Golf Course with Her Majesty’s signature ‘R.B.’ at an altar stone and planted a teak wood tree at the fairway of Hole 15.
