Headingley is the oldest golf club in Leeds, dating to 1892. The course itself in February of 1906, although the legendary architect Alister Mackenzie was retained in 1913 to redesign parts of the course, while Harry S. Colt was brought in to create some new bunkers. Since that time, the greens have been rebuilt to the USGA's tri-layer specification. Four sets of tees stretch the course from 5,641 to 6,601 yards.

Visitors and societies are welcome, but advance booking is highly recommended. The standard visitor walking rates are £45/round or £60/day, although guests-of-members and juniors enjoy various discounts. Several society packages are listed on the club's web site.
