Club Campestre Cuscatlán was created from an older golf course that was in need of repair. The new course combined the existing course with new features, such as an artificial lake and newly-planted grass and trees. Originally a nine-hole course, the revision expanded the layout to an 18-hole championship course. The designer put in charge of this transformation hoped to create a course that was challenging and also environmentally friendly.

The club is located in the Colonia Escalón section of San Salvador.
