Frilford Heath Golf Club
Frilford Heath
Abingdon, K2 OX13 5NW, United Kingdom

01865 390 864
Frilford Heath has been selected to host the 2013 English Amateur. With Woburn and Wentworth, FHGC is one of very few clubs with 54 holes on-site.

FROM THE CLUB WEB SITE:
Situated on 600 acres of glorious undulating heathland just south of Oxford city, the sandy subsoil – combined with traditional maintenance methods – results in a fine playing year-round surface. The club’s land is, in part, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and a programme of heather regeneration has seen a revival of the indigenous heathland flora and fauna.

Frilford’s Red course was designed by five-times Open champion JH Taylor, whose other courses include Royal Birkdale and Royal Mid-Surrey. We continue to attract major amateur events organised by the Royal and Ancient, English Golf Union and British and English Ladies Golf Association with most recently the England v France match in 2008, our centenary year.

The club has a thriving membership and welcomes visitors who come to enjoy warm hospitality, excellent catering and some of the best golf around.

Played Red course, greens outstanding, double cut and ironed. Course in fantastic shape all round. Only downside is a very tired clubhouse but you play golf on the course. Recommended.

This is a must play. The Red is No 1 but the Blue is a tricky little beast. The Green is lovely - it gives you a chance.
A proper Golf Club. An enjoyable day awaits.

great course you need to think your way around. althogh got a snooty telling off by the GM for using the black tees on red course, despite prior approval from the pro shop.

Played the glorious Red Championship course. Immaculate fairways and fast consistent greens. Guests made to feel most welcome by all. Excellent practise facilities. Good food from Spike Bar. Quintessentially English and hugely enjoyable.
