Bayou Oaks at City Park
1051 Filmore Ave
New Orleans, LA 70124-3928, United States

504.483.9410
City Park originally opened in 1902 and evolved into a four course New Orleans facility: North, South, East and West.

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina caused a complete closure and rebuild for the facility. The first phase was the restoration and reopening of the North course in 2008.

Joining the North Course was the opening of the new South course on April 21, 2017. The new course is comprised of a 250 acre footprint. The layout of the eighteen-hole course incorporates portions of the former East and West courses and features many of the historic oak trees and existing lagoons that are characteristic of the Park.

Played the course for the first time since Hurricane Katrina devastated City Park and its courses. The fiasco at City Park getting anything done is ridiculous. I understand there were more important things to do in New Orleans than rebuild golf courses, but we are going on 9 years since Katrina and they haven't even turned sod for the new big course they are supposed to be putting there... But I digress...
I'll assume that funding for the North course is at a minimum because the course is bare bones. It's golf, and it was the least loved course when they had the 3 prior to the storm, but it just seems that they could do so much more with the property, even on a tight budget. The cost for the course isn't in line with the upkeep of the course. I pay less to pay a course closer to my house that is maintained exponentially better than this course. City Park isn't a muny course, but one of the city's 2 muny's reopened 2 years ago and it's worlds better than City Park.
