Golf was first played here in 1927, when the course was named Xanadu, then later renamed Dupont Mansion, followed by Las Américas. This course is advertised as the first 18-hole course in Cuba, although the original design was re-done by the Canadian architect Les Furber, who combined several different styles of architecture - parkland, target, and a pronounced seaside links.

All fees are priced in Cuban Convertible Pesos (about 8% higher than US dollars). The standard rate is CUC 70, although a 10% surcharge for conversion applies.

Played in Feb 2019 and hope to return. Course was in alright shape and the views of the ocean are beautiful. We had an afternoon tee time and had the course pretty much to ourselves, so pace of play wasn't an issue. The course has a great layout. As with all my experience in Varadero, the Cuban hospitality is amazing.

Great course, lots of fun with holes 15 and 16. Spectacular views, played 5 rounds the last week of March, the fairways were a little dry which made the ball roll a lot futher. Will certainly return.

It is a resort course. Greens were a bit rough but understandable after a complete redo at the start of the year. Layout was fun. Enjoyed what the course offered in Feb/Mar.
