Petersfield GC was founded in 1892 and until 1997 was based on the Heath in Petersfield, which has been retained as a 12-hole Pay & Play. Rates are £10.50 weekdays and £12.50 on weekends.

The new course at Tankerdale Lane is a Martin Hawtree design that includes greens built to the USGA's tri-layer spec. The course opened on 17 March 1997, while the club house opened five months later.

The standard visitor walking rates here are £33 weekdays and £41 weekends. (Buggy hire is £25.) Societies of 12 members or more are also welcome with advance booking.

Regretfully spent the day on a course that had been starved of water. The greens were ok, just. However, the fairways should have been "lift and place" as there wasn't a good lie to be found, despite finding the middle of the fairway on several occasions! I'm sure the course would be in better condition during the spring and autumn. I would not recommend playing this course in the height of summer unless there is a reduction in price and a local rule for "lift in place", which, would also help prevent any additional damage to the parched bare fairways.

An excellent venue for our golf day, golf course was immaculate, weather was scorching and lager was served cold and with a smile. Highly Recommended!

The A3!!!! Too close. Without it the scenery would get 4* for the view, but so noisy. Good layout with some testing moments, particularaly the 16th.
