The Championship course at this private club was designed by the "retro-traditionalist" architecture team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Like many of their other course designs, this one has received national accolades; both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine named it to their respective 2007 "Best New Private Course" lists. Of special note here are several tight par-3s and the 16th hole, a par-5 with a double fairway split by a stone-lined water hazard.

CGC hosted the 2010 Senior PGA Championship (Tom Lehman) and the very dramatic 2013 Solheim Cup Matches (Europe 18, U.S. 10), fulfilling two dreams of the course developers.
