The Windham Club is located in the northeast corner of the state, 35 miles east of downtown Hartford. Formerly known as the "University Club of Connecticut," "Golf Club at Windham," and "Willimantic Country Club," this old-school parkland design debuted in 1922 and features tight greens with modest undulations and narrow, tree-lined fairways. Fifteen holes are bunkered, while three ponds serve as an additional challenge.

This course has been totally redone, from the clubhouse, the locker rooms, the restaurant, bar, and the course itself. The conditions continue to improve they have added distance and new tees and changed some of the holes. The greens are rolling great. they continue to make improvements. They have made the third hole a difficult par three and the 17th hole is now a tough par 5. They have rerouted the course and the last four holes are challenging finish. If you haven't been in a while, you should check it out.

This is a typical parkland course, not too difficult, always in decent shape when I play it. The first hole tee shot is over a road, which is interesting. Also the 4th tee is just across the road from the 4th fairway. Never crowded in the middle of the week.
